Wedding dirndl

Jun 27/2012 Wedding Dresses

Last week I attended my first wedding with traditional Austrian outfits. The majority of the guests was dressed in dirndl or leather shorts, which appealed very cheerful. The groom was dressed in a traditional way but the bride was not wearing a dirndl. What a pity!

Weddings with traditional outfits are trendy since a few years. They represent traditional values like coherence and solidity. Furthermore, a dirndl dress flatters the female figure and there are trendy and modern dirndls for brides. I like the wedding dirndl in white or cream-colored.

Couples can make a pleasant contrast with a wedding with traditional outfits. In order not to commit a stylistic incongruity, all the accessories, the hairstyle, the location, the music and the decoration have to be matched on the topic.

I want give some inspirations for wedding dirndls and the flair of a traditional wedding.

The first row of images are from another traditional Austrian wedding. The bride wears a Midi Dirndl from Wichtlstube in Austria. The Photos are from Kerstin Fuchsjäger, snugArtS Photography.
